If previous experiences at the makeup and beauty shops have left you frustrated, confused, and feeling anything but beautiful, you haven’t been to the right shop yet! You want to be somewhere where you can feel comfortable and not scared to ask questions that might seem “silly” to a seasoned pro!

We get so many questions on how to apply make up, what goes on first? What is the right shade of foundation on my skin tone? and many more, so we decided to do an easy step guide for the beginners!

First and foremost, you should realise that makeup is not a mask, it’s a form of art and more importantly – it’s a form of expression. It can be a hell lot of fun to try out different things because you have all the creative freedom to experiment with what you like best.

What You Need

  • Foundation
  • Concealer
  • Blush
  • Powder
  • Eye Shadow
  • Lipstick/Gloss

As per your preference, you can choose to skip the products you don’t wish to wear :)

Step 1:  The first and foremost step is to apply a primer.Doing this will boost coverage, smoothen out your texture, minimize pores and will increase the longevity of your makeup.

Step 2: Apply Foundation

Choose the exact shade of foundation for your skin tone to achieve a flawless look. A good trick for finding the right shade is to match it to your jawline.  The SuzieBeauty  foundation range has a variety of different shades and is a great pick for liquid foundation.

Take some product on the back of your hand and apply it on your using a brush or a damp makeup sponge for an airbrushed effect. Make sure you blend the product well along your face, jawline, and neck, so you don’t look  weird.

Step 3: Apply Concealer

A concealer is typically used to cover up those bothersome spots, blemishes and dark circles. Use a concealer in a shade slightly lighter than your skin tone to brighten and even out any areas that need work.

With a concealer brush, apply the concealer under your eyes in an upside-down triangular shape and blend well. Dab some product on spots and other imperfections and blend the edges well, so it seamlessly blends into your foundation.

Step 4: Apply Powder

This is basically to set the foundation. If you have an oily skin, we recommend you use our loose powder with has a matte finish. We also have the compact powder with gives you a silky finish that everyone can use.

The above steps are just the base. This is an almost complete look. For a beginner, we recommend that you experiment with filling the eyebrows and blending the eye shadow later a step at a time to perfect the art.

Step 5 : Apply Blush

Blush adds a gorgeous glow to your skin and makes it look fresh and healthy. Use a blush brush to apply the blush to the apples of your cheek.

You will definitely have that glow-from-within effect!

Step 6: Apply Lipstick or Lip gloss.

Make sure your lips are well hydrated and moisturized before applying lipstick or lip gloss. Always find a lip colour shade that compliments your skin tone to give you that extra umph!

We hope you’ve got some of these tips and will guide you through your make up application process!

Cheers! ;)
